The ClimbBristol project is led by a steering group of volunteers while the role of project manager is funded by the BMC – which only lasts until March 2015. We want the project to be sustainable in the future and for that we will need to rely entirely on volunteers -so your help is wanted in a variety of ways:
Come and help out at our regular work parties where we clear the cliffs of invasive vegetation… and rubbish!
If you have a specific skill to offer then we’re on the look out for help with replacing bolts and pegs and loose rock clearance. Photography and filming expertise is also needed as well as assistance in keeping this website up to date.
If you’d like to be part of the steering group in future we’d also be interested to hear from you. We’ll need people to help push paper, maintain relationships with our partners and coordinate volunteers.
Fill in our contact form to get onto our general volunteer list or to inform us of your specific skills
Donate now to the Avon and Cheddar fixed gear fund. BMC funding has helped to renew and replace many of the old bolts in the Gorge but both of these fantastic climbing venues need constant refurbishment so any little helps.

We have already received generous donations from The Climbing Academy, Taunton leisure, Dicks Climbing and Ellis Brigham, as well as contributions from The Bristol University Mountaineering Club and Yeovil Mountaineering Club.
A massive thanks to all of you boulderers who visited The Climbing Academy and added to the donation pot – We had a total of £600 contributed in this way: which goes a long way for the completion of all the peg and bolt replacement targets at Avon.
We are very thankful for donations from
